Adolescent Day Treatment
Building The Future
The prevention programs focus on promoting protective factors—that is, the characteristics of a student’s environment that can support healthy and positive youth development.
These protective factors can be implemented at a student’s home, community, and school. During the day treatment program, clients will develop themselves through Art Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prevention Education and many more.
Criteria
People can join our mental health day programs voluntarily. We accept referrals from mental health professionals, organizations, and you or your family. Our admissions counselors are happy to answer any questions about how we can help you or your loved one.
To be successful, clients must be fully involved in their recovery. This means committing to positive changes, such as taking prescribed medicine, attending individual and group therapy sessions, and practicing new skills and behaviors.
Adolescent Primary Criteria
Teen clients and their families must be willing to positively participate in the treatment program. Clients should also meet these criteria.

Vaccinations
To protect the health of our clients and staff, all adolescents must provide a current record of immunizations prior to admission. The record should show dates for all vaccines required by the state of Delaware for children and adolescents and be signed by a licensed physician or public health official. Please see current vaccine guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics as a point of reference. Please note, vaccination for Covid and HPV is not currently required for admission to our adolescent program. Unless medically contraindicated, adolescent clients in services during flu season must also have the annual seasonal influenza vaccine. Adolescent clients must provide proof of vaccination with the seasonal flu vaccine or be willing to receive the flu shot from Holistic Elevation on the day of admission.
Understanding Your Costs
The total cost of treatment depends on the care you need and how long you stay. Most families pay using a mix of insurance and their own money. Please note that Medicare and Medicaid do not cover our services. If you need help with the costs that insurance does not cover, we offer financial aid to families who qualify.
In-Network with Private Insurance
Holistic Elevation treatment programs are in-network with many private (commercial) plans offered by:
Aetna
Blue Cross Blue Shield
Carelon Behavioral Health (PHP/IOP only)
Cigna
ComPsych
Kaiser Permanente (effective August 1, 2026)
Optum/United Behavioral Health/Oscar Health/UMR/UHC
Humana Military / TRICARE East*.
Families with plans offered by other private insurers may be able to use their out-of-network benefits to receive reimbursement for a portion of program fees.
*TRICARE plans cover all eligible adolescent clients. TRICARE plans are in-network for adult residential treatment for adults ages 18-20 only. TRICARE plans cover adult day treatment and IOP program for adults ages 18 to 26 who are covered dependents and adults 18+ who are primary beneficiaries.
Financial Counseling
We offer financial counseling before you start. Insurance can be complicated, and it rarely pays for everything, including your full treatment time. Our financial counselors will help you figure out what you will need to pay. They can also help you look into financial aid options to lower your costs.
Financial Aid Program
Thanks to our donors and friends, we have a financial aid program for families who need it. While we ask all clients to pay for some of their treatment, we are committed to helping families. In fact, over 35 percent of our clients receive financial aid to help cover costs.
Adolescent Treatment Program Fees
The total cost of treatment depends on how many days of care your child needs. We are a nonprofit, so we offer financial aid to help families pay for costs that insurance does not cover. Please talk to one of our financial counselors to learn about your costs and how much you will need to pay.
In-Network With Most Major Private Insurance Providers
Our adolescent treatment programs are in-network with many private (commercial) plans offered by Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield/Anthem, Carelon Behavioral Health (PHP/IOP only), Cigna, ComPsych, Optum/United Behavioral Health/Oscar Health/UMR/UHC, and Humana Military / TRICARE East.
Using Your In-Network Insurance Benefits
Holistic Elevation will ask your insurance for approval before treatment starts. If they say yes, we will send the bill straight to them. We will then bill the person paying for the treatment for anything insurance doesn't cover, like co-pays or deductibles. Please keep in mind that getting approval from insurance does not mean they will definitely pay for everything.
Using Your Out-of-Network Insurance Benefits
If we are not in your insurance network, you might still be able to get some money back. If you want to ask your insurance for a refund yourself, we will give you a detailed bill to send to them.
Adolescent Private Pay Program Fees
The price of treatment covers our expert team, personal therapy, family programs, healthy meals, and high-quality buildings. Teens will have a private bedroom and bathroom.
Adolescent Day Treatment Program
Approximate length of stay: 4-6 weeks (step down), 6-10 weeks (direct admit)
Private Pay Daily Program Fee:
$625 / day
Also called partial hospitalization (PHP)
Monday-Friday, 9AM-3PM
Day Treatment if offered as a step down level of care from residential treatment. Adolescents who meet clinical criteria may admit directly to day treatment (PHP).
Additional Expenses
Program fees do not include: (1) therapy for the whole family, special testing, or doctor visits (sometimes), (2) wellness clinic visits, (3) medicine and lab tests, and (4) online school fees. If we are in your insurance network and they approve the care, we will bill them for wellness visits. You will still have to pay for co-pays or deductibles. You will pay the full price if your insurance does not cover the clinic. Medicine & Lab Tests: The bills for medicine and some lab tests will come from a different company.
Payment Due at Admission
If you use insurance that we accept and they approve the stay, you must pay your estimated co-pays or deductibles for the first 30 days when you arrive.
If you are paying the full price yourself, the person paying must pay for the first 30 days of care and a $2,500 admission fee on the first day.
Financial Aid May Reduce Private Pay Costs
We offer a Financial Aid Program for families who need help paying. More than 35 percent of our clients get financial aid to help lower their costs.
